Sorry Ian didn't mean to end there, the engine obviously bigger and heavier is mounted leaning forward as in the focus.
I was worried about the weight difference and position but the car felt awesome first time out so I was well pleased. I've only been out one track day so will be tweaking next year.

What did you for the gearbox, is that Focus as well?

There was a guy doing one on Facebook, not sure if he was trying to use the Puma box.

Mine does need more power, the 1.7 is OK but once you get used to the handling it could do with a bit more.

Ye focus IB5 box and I had to go cable gear change which is nice.. if you have the money and no how go 2.0 zetec
it's worth it. I was really worried because after a few years of tuning the front and rear suspension I had the car handling brilliantly. Predictive lift off oversteer and very nice turn in,great on the brakes and got the power down so fitting a heavier lump which would hang out the front was a worry but having not changed anything suspension wise the car feels great.
You can easily get 170+ without going mental.

Sounds interesting. The ST170s are a lot cheaper now as well if you can find one, I remember them being strong money but the mk1 are not so popular any more.
