I didn't like the overall quality of it and have a Kenwood headunit running the standard speakers (but with crossovers on all the speakers) and extra tweeters plus a 12inch Kenwood sub/kicker amp in the boot. There is still just enough room to fit the shopping in and the bass can be felt as well as heard.

I will however be putting it straight back in the boot this Friday when I next have some spare time - with no bottom end, the tunes in my car at the mojo sound bloody awful!
Couldn't possibly comment as to whether the Ford fitted headunit has pre-outs - the headunit in my FRP lasted the journey from the Tickfords factory in Daventry, to the local shopping centre where I then popped in my Sony minidisc headunit (at the time, since replaced with a Sony MP3 head) which did have pre-outs... Running power/signal/remote on cables to the boot is easy enough. It would certainly be wise to secure the sub cabinet in the boot with some straps - like I still haven't got around to doing
