I've just had the local Ford stealership look at an oil leak on Mary's (SWMBO) Puma.

They say both engine front a rear oil seals are shot and are quoting £SILLY to fix (engine out, gearbox off, replace cam belt just in case).

Before deciding this a write off case, I'd like some pointers to alternative (good) people who can fix this at a more reasonable cost. Is there anyone you can recommend? Closer is good, but will travel for good work!

Where am I - Kenilworth, in Warwickshire.

Thanks
David

I am very far south of you so hopefully you will get local replies to you.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

Chris Allison is in Nottingham.

Usually only works on Racing Pumas but this sounds right up his street, I'd certainly run it by him for a price.

Re the job you need the cam belt and box off regardless of who is going it so you'll not avoid that expense. Probably beat Ford labour price though and Chris is arguably more experienced.
