Toast

I moved into my present house 8 years ago and 'inherited' a very basic, old toaster from the previous owner which I have been using ever since. It is naff as it toasts only about 3/4 of each side of a slice of bread at a time.
My circumstances have changed now and I have decided I can afford to buy a new one. The problem is that I have no idea what to get. I have looked online and found toasters that cost up to about £150. Having never actually bought one before, what do I look for? Can anyone recommend one to me? The only thing I know is that I need a 2-slice toaster rather than a 4-slice job.
Thanks in advance!

It depends on how picky you are over your toast

Unless you type in "toaster make reviews" in google, or look at websites like CIAO (they do a lot of reviews) but you have to have one in mind I suppose

what a coincidence, Kate - that is exactly the model I was looking at, but on a different site!
I am just not sure you get for that sort of price that you don't get by spending half the amount!

I am a bloke. Blokes either do not have colour coordination or do not care. I am not sure which is true in my case, but either way as long as it makes good toast that is all that matters to me
I agree, Kate - it is attractive and the features of it also look good - though I am not sure I would use them all!
Between writing university references I shall continue to look!
(with apologies to blokes who do have colour coordination, of course )
(or who care! )

you shouldnt need to spend more than £20 - 30 for a good quality toaster. Something with a easily removable crumb tray, easy to use control and maybe even a "reheat" button for cold toast if your being flash.
One hint of warning, being an english gent, I'm sure you like crumpets! If so avoid your £5 "value" specials as ive found out the hard way when i tried to cook crumpets in a tesco value toaster and it made the crumpets all stick on the toaster cage and burn

I will be heeding Warren's advice, however
