No hes got a new fiesta st and wants some bigger brakes, mountune have released a brake kit that uses the same alcon calipers as the frp but want 1300 quid for the kit!

Looks like spares will be easy to get again!

lol.. there's no issue in getting any of the Alcon parts associated with the FRP setup, there never has been...

the only issue is COST... new discs, calipers etc are quite costly and people really have lost touch as to what the going rate is for such a setup from Alcon...

I notice from that mountune ad that the calipers have no mounts like the custom made FRP setup so they've had to draw up and make special steel brackets which bolt straight through the top of the caliper... remember the brackets add a lot of weight and kind of negate ANY weight saving feature by having Alloy caliper shells....

An FRP caliper setup I fear may not be a straight forward bolt on to a MK7..

:good:

Sounds an even more rigid setup recall something Peter B once said was due to FRP caliper mounting either noise or vibration and this sounds like potential to be worse
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale
