Anyone fancy coming along and giving their Puma a run around Keevil Airfield in July?
(About 10 miles south of Chippenham in Wiltshire.)
I'm doing a trackday with Motorsport Events.
Loads of run off being an airfield and Motorsport Events will not allow any silliness.

£99 open pit, so you can do as many miles as you want all day.
I did over 70 miles on my last one with them :)

Have a look on the motorsport events link.
You need your driving license.
Long sleeve top. ( No shorts, as no bare skin exposed except face and hands. )
Crash helmet or one can be hired for £10 I think.

Make sure your oil is topped up and tyres pressures all OK.

You need to book / pay in advance on their web site.

Had a look at the Website. Whats the deal regarding insurance.... does it apply on the track? Do i need to tell my insurance nazi's? Do i take out one day race incsurance?

Pretty keen to go on this.

Also, for additional drivers... do they have to be on an insurance policy to drive etc, or is it just a bit of a free for all?

You can buy insurance for track days, but its normally very expensive and the excess is very high.
That's why an airfield is so appealing, not too much to hit and Motorsport Events "police" the drivers pretty well keep them sensible.
I spun my FRP at around 70 mph at Colerne, but just went across the grass.
Its a risk you take.

Hopefully the weather will be good, being its July, but its not guaranteed.

I have never bothered with insurance for track, but then none of the cars i have used have been worth it.
Rebuilt a saxo after a crash myself too.

Graham, im sure you are the one i have met through talktorque?? I might come to this, puma needs an outing. Depends if I can get time off or not though.
Would be good to compare my car to an FRP.

Yes that's me,.
I'm with TT this weekend at Combe classic action day.
will be giving the car an outing or two then :)

Will be taking it easy at Combe as no run off, but at Keevil plenty of run off so it will be flat out ;)

Im now trying to get this off :D Hopefully space is left when I can afford to pay for it.

Any chance of a passenger lap or 2 at combe? Never been out in an FRP

Be good if you can make Keevil.

Only parade speed at RS day I'm afraid. I did look at booking the track sessions as they have just been dropped in price to £100 I think.
But the car is out at Keevil the weekend after and it was only 3 weeks ago being blasted around Combe.
So I will give it a rest ;)

Plus my Toyo tyres wouldn't handle it, they are looking decidedly worn after about 4000 miles since fitting.
I have another set of silver wheels with tyres for trackdays.
Need to get up to Swindon and collect a EBay tyre win ASAP. Don't think the seller was very happy with £5.50...

Looks like I will have the time off.

Hopefully they have a space left for me, waiting on Natasha to ring me back.
