Julie - titles for photo competitions are generally vague to give you the freedom to explore whatever you like as long as it is linked to the title

how wide is your imagination?

Slightly OT, I was wandering around B&Q yesterday picking up some nicknacks, when I spotted all the xmas tat in the sale offering an upsidedown xmas tree! I thought wtf!!?? Who in their right mind would have/want an upsidedown tree? Looked mighty bizarre to say the least!

Maybe it's someone who worked for Gene Rodenberry - apparently one time when they were filming the original StarTrek he was inspecting an alien set. He saw a plant that someone had put in as set decoration, and saying "this doesn't look alien enough," promptly pulled it up and put it back in its pot, upside down

You must be behind over there....... you know....... in Wales. I remember these on sale in the garden centre near my parents when I was 12-13. The idea is you hang them from the ceiling if you are short on floor space, they can go above the TV or something and don't get in the way.

However they were nearly 10 years behind my parents on thinking of that idea as they took to hanging the tree (the right way up) from the ceiling in 1984 when my 18 month old sister was a little too attracted to the pretty glass baubles and Mum got worried that she would manage to break one and lacerate her fingers blink.gif

quite probably, but it was taken recently ie this autumn! I could not get that shot now.

In camera clubs images can be submitted more than once, and often in different categories - as long as the shot was taken within a given time

I thought you had to take the photo in the month of the assignment - i.e. once the topic had been set.

Just my interpretation of the goal of the assignments I suppose

I beg to differ. In camera clubs, once an image has been entered into a competition, it cannot be entered again. It can, however, be entered in inter-club competitions - but only once against any particular club. You were right about the time though - usually 2 years.

I knew there was a way you could use the same pic more than once!
