Hi all

I have recently picked up an R Reg purple 1.7 Puma. My parents had one from new when they 1st came out and i always had a soft spot for them.

Its done 88k from new, full (p)leather interior and has the ford multispoke alloys. Minimal rust, just a bit of bubbling around rear arch.

Anyway, the only query i have on it is the temperature gauge.... it doesn't sit in the middle as you would expect - it only goes up to around the "N" in normal on the gauge - is that right? should it go up to the middle?

Also, not an issue but never seen it before on all the cars iv owned, the mileage isn't the digital display, its the old style, however, there is only space for 5 numbers, so once i go over 99,999 will it just reset to zero?!

I use it for my 80 mile round trip for my commute, mostly country A roads, it doesn't miss a beat!

All in all a great little car :-)

Chris

Hi
Yes your mileage could actually be 188,000 and not 88,000 so need to use MOT history to validate milage.
The wiki has a section on Puma heating, the gauge does normally sit in the middle when at operating temperature.
Is that the leather interior from the thunder fitted?
Melina blue is a great colour, I like them all :-) the real purple was Thistle but it wasn't a UK market colour so I assume you mean Melina blue.
Enjoy your Puma

Well the Puma is off in to my local garage at the weekend - suspected stuck open Thermostat so they are going to replace it and see if the temp pin sits at the usual position. fingers crossed.

Other than that i'm loving the car, really good car for the little i paid. Here's to many miles as a happy owner!
