Does anyone know if you can fit the Stereo Steering Column Control from the Focus in to the back of Puma Headunit?

Thanks for looking.

Cheers

P.S. I got a control unit from a modeo brand new from ford in germany for about 50 Euro. It dos not fit streat in to the puma, but a few mod. on som glue and it works fine.

I like the idea off steering column control for the stereo as my old car had steering wheel control's and i found them much better than taking your eye's off the road and fumbling about with the unit itself

I had them on a previous car and never used them, the only time I ever used them was when one of my idiot friends used to turn the music up so :yell: loud I thought the roof was going to blow off....it was easier to turn it down quickly biggrin.gif

Got remote control with current head unit....dont use that either ja_stupid.gif

Ive got it in mine but never use it !! It was fiited by the previous owner who took it from his milly. he gave me the wiring pics but dont know if they would be any use to you. Ill have a look at where he got it fitted as i cant remember off the top of my head. I think its pretty simple though if you really want one fitted. I could certainly live without it.

I did this mod a few months ago - all you need is to find a Mondeo post '97, Mk 4/5 Fiesta Ghia (or a Focus (and I think some of the last escorts but not sure - was told this by a mechanic at local Ford garage my dad works at) with a steering coloumn remote and take it off and it fits - well the one from a R Reg Fiesta went straight on mine. If you can find a Fiesta its easier to take the whole bottom of the steering coloumn as you can just swap it with the Puma one as they are the same fixings so you dont have to go drilling holes in the existing one. After I fitted it and it worked with the Ford radio I found the adapter thing that came with my Kenwood head unit and plugged it in to that and it works with that too - all for ?10 from a scrap yard.

Quality!! So is there a connector in the back of the Puma 6000 CD Tuner for the Remote to plug straight in to? Or does it literally work by remote?

Cheers
Darrone
