Hiya,

My car has brigther rear lights than usual, I'd even argue the indicators look brighter.

I think perhaps the bulbs have been upgraded in the past. In comparison, regular pumas lights look rather dull.

Perhaps as a result of this, the lights also look a little orange rather than red as they should be. Is this likely to be just from the stronger bulbs?

Also, when you unlock using the key fob, all of the indicators flash. Is this driven from a unit somewhere inside the car and passed down to the lights, or is it likely to be something within each light?

I only ask as one rear light has damage and the other has a rather terrible leak, so I'm looking at getting both replaced.

My preference would be to keep the extra brightness, hopefully without the orange tint, but we can't have everything we want.

Not sure on unlocking, mine dont do that, only on a double press of the lock button do they flash to show the cars been deadlocked

Yeah the flashy indicators on deadlocking are from the remote central locking unit in the car, essentially the light clusters are just there to hold the bulbs in place and protect them from dirt and water (lol) no electrickery in them whatsoever (or shouldnt be, unless yours have been played about with)

Okay great that's what I wanted to hear.

Lights steaming up seems to be a common issue (I can see this happened in part on pretty much all of the lights), do people here tend to seal them up somehow once dried out?

well the front light clusters have hoses coming out the back of them to drawn moisture out,

My rear clusters do mist up, but it goes away on its own usually, but if youre getting excessive condensation (not just a patch in the corner say) then you should check them for cracks. one on my last set had a hairline crack on the outside glass along the top where it goes from black to clear, couldnt really fix it, needed a new one :S
