Strong wheels??

Unfortunately my FRP wheels are now buckled and egg shaped so I need replacements.
I am looking at speedline turinis as they are flowformed aluminium and are a derivitive of the same wheel used on the earky S1600 rally pumas.
Does anyone know how strong they really are as I don't want to trash another set of wheels yet I don't want to slow down either.
If I have to buy magnesium wheels then I will but that is the last resort as they cost a bomb.
The following roads are the roads I have bent the wheels on so can some one technically minded take a look at the pics and advise me if I need heftier wheels or not.

Do you have to have 17's ? the lower profile tyres wont help your cause one bit... I'd stick to 15's, probably props seeing as they are cheap to replace and suitable rubber is cheap too...
Stop being spoon fed and GOOGLE it!

They look like exciting narrow roads and I can see why you go hell for leather along them, but they also look smooth enough.
out of interest - Which compass direction from Glasgow are they?

I seem to remember someone telling me (probably Alan) that there was a guy who managed to bend his axle because the wheel refused bend!

We run them on the rally car all year and that thing gets some abuse.
Warren why not stick some 15's back on or even go for 14's?
I'm hoping next year to build up a Puma for road rallying and will run 14's thats for sure
Or why not get an old set of steel wheels and run some forestry tyres for when you go out to play.
When we used my Puma as a Managerial car on one of the rallies last year I ran 14inch forestries and it was great, even on the tarmac.
Those roads don't look that bad to be honest!

Plenty of decent 13" competition rubber around.

There are big craters every now and again, plus in some places I get fully airborne and land with a bang!
And when its been heavily raining you get the occasional big stones in the way.
The road is west of Glasgow. It is the road to Glen douglas accessible via the A82 before Arrochar or the A814 between Garlochead and Arrochar.
The gravel track is an MoD track near there.

I have FRP brakes so I am stuck with 17's I think.

sounds like you have the wrong wheels really..... surely they must be sticking out....
those speedlines at PB's should be more suited....
