:?:
I've been running a pair of Bridgestone SO-3's on the front of my standard 1.7 (195/50 15") for about 2 months now. On mild days, they have amazing grip in wet and dry. But i'm not totally happy - I've recently noticed more slip on cool damp mornings (4-5 degrees C, wet/damp road), when hard cornering and accelerating hard from standstill. The way this tyre is reviewed, you'd think it would stick to anything! - clearly not in the cold. I'm assuming this is the un-warmed tyre compound not performing well in the cold, and so this is a problem for all high performance tyres (they are mostly all 'summer' rated) - anyone else running these tyres? Any realistic opinions?

Used to run them but found they were less than ideal in the wet... good in the dry though smile.gif but I (and others) don't rate them as highly as the older S02's.

I've since moved on to Toyo T1-S's (now T1-R's) much better as an all round tyre in the wet and dry. T1-S's were dirt cheap as well in the 15's (around £32 each) compared to the S03s. T1-R's are around the £50 mark...

Running these nearly new front and rear on my Accord Type R (215/45R17)

Seemed OK in the dry. Rather a lot of tyre roar.

Wheelspin in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the damp up to 40mph and tailwagging on demand when cornering at reasonable speed.

In short I will not be replacing with the same when they wear out comp.gif Will give those Toyo T1-Rs a try...should be more suitable for British weather.

Never tried Toyos - sound like a really good match to the car. My drive to work on the twisty bits the other morning was a better experience (~10C & damp). Much better traction! Goodyear Eagle F1 also has good rating from a mate running them on a 106 gti. The new Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 (as fitted to the new Clio 182 sport) sounds interesting. Must be a quality tyre if it was developed for the Clio - similar size & weight to the Puma (tho bit more power!).

Goodyear F1 are good but I don't think I'd buy again as they are a little soft and lack decisiveness...ideal for the average driver but not the best for a sporting drive IMO.

Hi, running S03 all way about 5 months now... (about 180€ 4 tires 195/50-15).

It bends corners better than EagleF1, much better, i can play with the sliding of those with no effort, althought because of the harder sidewalls of the tires (witch also allows better cornering for not bending so easily), also makes the ride a little bit more stiff and unconfortable, in pot holes and bumps, also a little more noise from the rolling... :greenmad:
Also in could weather/damp road they slip a bit..
If i would buy them again ?! :|

Yep

Only if i can find a tire a little less hard and more cheap, but if not, i will stick to the s03'S cool2.gif
