They were a run of 1500 numbered gearknobs that were given out to the first 1500 Puma customers back in 1997 who attended the Brands Hatch and Oulton Park Ford organised track days. wink.gif

I've got 808 and 858, both purchased at Ford Fair last year.

I want a gear knob but with a Welsh Dragon placed into it instead of the numbers smile.gif
I remember my Ford Puma 1.7 - Looked after by PUMABUILD with happiness :)

I've got two of those knobs but the numbers are higher than 208.

208 probably adorning an FRP (or owners living room...)

BUT

Someone on here IIRC can make them ;-)

Mind you, all you need is to find a friendly machine shop, and they could do it for you (even maybe adding a dragon)

The knobs originally done by Ford also have a small "dome" of clear plastic over the number, so keeping the perfect shape of the original gear knob... recreating this piece of plastic could be somewhat costly...

I suppose you could by an original then make one with the preferred number and transfer the plastic bit.

Knowing ford its probably just glued on lightly anyway!

The numbered section in milled into the plastic bit. sad.gif I think also it would be hard to get it out without damaging it. wink.gif

I bought 958 at FF - just in case a Capital Radio DJ ever happens to buy a puma and wants to give me oodles of cash for it laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

958 is very tactile and currently acts as a stress reliever on my desk at home (particularly tonight seeing as my date has let me down )

They could be quite lethal as a weapon, pretty heavy. Go let him know what the stress reliever really feals like.
