Servicing At A Ford Garage Are there still issues with getting parts?

Hi, It used to be handy for me to get my servicing done by Pumabuild but now I work miles away from there and its going to be easier to get my car serviced at an official Ford dealer.
Are there still issues with Ford dealers getting hold of parts for the FRP? Do they all now know the correct procedure?
What IS the procedure and contact details now so that I can pass them on to the dealer if necessary? Do they still need to ring Peter Beattie these days?

I can say for 90% that my car will need new pads. Going back a few days later to have them put on isnt an issue, but I dont want weeks of messing about while the dealer tries aimlessly to get hold of the parts....

Any help appreciated.

FRP parts are now part of the main stock - any Ford dealer can order parts - no special procedure neccersary...

Only thing you might have to point out is that some of the 909 numbers have been changed to 908
RPJ DAMPENERS - POWERFLEX ALLROUND - JANSPEED SS SYSTEM - SOLD - probably in bits now...

It may be more reassuring to ask if your local Ford garage has ever worked on an FRP before. I'd like to have the option of taking mine to my local Ford, but none of them have ever been near one before.
What also put me off was that one mechanic told me they just look on the service bulletin for info on what to do. Now obviously i wouldn't expect a mechanic to know the in's and outs of a car they've never worked on before, but maybe thats why i'd prefer to take it to Pumabuild.

Yep, I'd take it to a Ford dealer with a experience of FRPs - I'm currently using Mansfield Ford

So are all FRP finis codes the same apart from the 9 now being an 8? e.g, 9091234 is now 9081234

all Dealers were sent an updated parts list, but sadly who ever did it did not put the old number with the new so some guess work is required wink.gif as some descriptions changed too. Parts supply is good (if there is a part to supply)

Approached my local Ford garage today with a list of parts with new finis codes for my brake service. According to the parts guy, they're no longer available. Not even the pads and discs dry.gif

Brakes aside, is there any difference (to the mechanic) between servicing an FRP and a standard Puma?

(the beauty of mathematics)

I'm planning on using Dewitts anyway, i just wanted to compare Ford's prices with them, and to give me the option of using my local Ford parts desk in emergencies.

I've got a complete list of FRP parts descriptions with their finis codes - you just replace the 909 prefix with 908 where appropriate

I can post the list here (if the mods are ok with it) or pm me

Dewitts no longer sell FRP parts as far as I know that was dropped nearly 2 years ago now, but I could be wrong.
