Would be great if there was a way we could have a light to illuminate the gear navigator on the aluminium gear knob

Sounds a bit chavvy imho, I can't see how it could be done with the standard gear knob as you would have to hollow it out to fit the leds or whatever.

It made me think of these (hence the chavvy bit)

That's horrible, no, it would have to be the original knob obviously I'm not sure it can be done or not but would look cool.

i think you would have to get the numbers hollowed in... and then place an led into the top of the gear lever, wire it to the ignition, and then put the hollowed gear lever onto the led... not sure how to accomplish that.

Your biggest problem would be running power to it unless it uses batteries.

You could use UV paint then shine a UV light down onto it.

Sounds increibly expensive to me- I'm pretty sure the Puma gear knob is solid steel, so hollowing it out would be difficult (pricey). Then you would have to install and connsct some sort of light inside, which sounds very fiddly and again expensive. I really think you'd be better off buying a seperate knob with these features already built in. It might be possible to find one similar to the Puma's, if not exactly the same.

The rx8 has this but im sure if you put it in a car like a puma it would be like saying "im a mcdonalds yob"

Before thinking about any flash leds id shorten the gear stick like bok and I have done because it looks stupid being so long with no cover over it.

Once you have cut a couple of inches off the stick pluck out the heely (not sure how thats spelt) coil inside the gear knob, rethread the stick with a die set and put a gear shaft sleeve over it with a new leather gaiter good.gif

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Richbrook-Silver-Gea...p3286.m20.l1116

Well thats what I done anyway and it looks 100 times better than before!
