mm not nice...

my mum has recently just left hospital after a big operation to repair the bowel in two places... and sort out some other infection and hernia etc.... not good...

the operation went well...but a day or two after it became clear she was weak as hell and had caught a hospital CDIF virus... bhaaw.gif

luckily they transferred her to a specialist room and ward vented for this type of bacteria so it could be nailed.....

She's back home now and doing great ...really pleased 10.gif

those 'hospiatl virus's' are so not good tho.... wacko.gif

Glad things are looking up Chris smile.gif

C Diff can also be self caused (not saying this is your case), in that if you take too many antibiotics then your gut flora gets out of balance. Whilst antibiotics are absorbed into the body to fight the infection there are always some of that antibiotic bacteria that make it to the bowel and colon, and once in here the good bacteria gets wiped out a little.
Unfortunately I have had a shed load of antibiotics this year so am taking 4+ tablets of 50 billion plus probiotics a day to ensure to keep my gut flora healthy as otherwise I would be at risk of self inflecting C Diff.
It is the same as Candida, it is already in our system just the balance can easily get out of balance and then they thrive and the good bacteria goes. Poor diet can also cause a bad balance to occur.
This amount of probiotics also helps keep the bowels regular too.
Yakult is good but I don't take dairy (though no where near the same level of bacteria count as what I am taking).

The tragic death of Denise Hendry & others would not deter me from having the surgery if I could afford it. I'd have liposuction, tummy tuck the whole works if possible. I understand & wouls accept the risks of the surgerys
Even the most minor of proceedures can & do sometimes go wrong.

I wouldnt have plastic surgery ever. im secure enough as a person to accept what i look like. I can live with the fact i am a fat knacker and its through my own making and therefore requires my hard work to change it. I think that plastic surgery is a bit of a cop out in many cases. I really dont see the point in liposuction for 99% of people as it doesnt solve the reasons they are fat in the first place - just look at that kerry woman. I think sensible diet an exercise is a proper way to solve obesity as on the way you learn fitness and how to eat properly.

good idea laugh.gif

most these slimming world rubbish is just reinventing the same wheel. I remember reading the book someone had and all the slimming world stuff was just a normal healthy diet with a bit cut out to aid wieght loss!!

I guess its a good idea for those whove lived in families whove been bought up on junk food so just dont know what healthy food is!! the rest of us just need to get back in the habit of eating properly!!

still at least none of us are bad enough to take chips to our kids at school to boycott healthier school dinners laugh.gif those photos of parents passing takeaways through school gates shows just how big a problem this country has.

And still is. School dinner take up has never recovered, kids are just not eating the helthier options that are now provided.
Sadly it would seem parents are still feeding garbage as otherwise by now the children would be eating dinners again.
So there are mixed messages I feel going on still.

Its a missed message from society as general.

On one hand the government are supporting "fat bashing" to combat obesity and its health effects,

and on the other hand the "PC" brigade and society is trying its best to make everyone "the same" regardless of size with "its ok" to be bigger etc Without aiming to target woman, most of the fashion and literature is aimed at woman (although obesity effects both sexs) i suspect because woman generally are more succeptable to influence of media/fashion etc. where as with men, media and fashion has never had such a similar effect.

And then we have the female model and fashion clothing industry taking it to the extreme with anorexic models being promoted as normal.

Is it any wonder theres such confusion generally??? Just look at the sheer increases in eating disorders and mental health issues related to body dismorphia, low self esteem etc etc.

Is it any wonder we have scores of familys where the parents just "dont see" obesity as a problem for thier children.

I think it is just not seen because the child next to the child next to the child is also over weight. It has become normal and therefore not seen as anything other than normal to be overwieght as it looks normal. So as you say the messages become even more mixed.
At least now thankfully the baby weight charts are now back to being based on breast milk. Fancy having a chart based on formula feed then telling breast feeding Mums your baby is not gaining enough weight, you have to had formula etc. At least that rubbish has been kicked to touch.

Life just aint always easy Warren and sometimes making the right choice is hard, so many people just live life to be happy, and if you are happy with that and who you are then that is cool smile.gif
