Carrboy - I'd edit that first post if I were you. If anything happens to his property you could end up in a spot of bother! And if he gets on this forum, I'm guessing he also has your details??

Play nice!

Sad to hear you've become a further victim of this muppet but glad to see that unlike my friend Gary at least he hasn't actually taken any money off you and not supplied the goods . As a very aged and cautious man of the world could I please ofer some advice.

Why not sell yor ST for cash and look at the number of FRP's currently for sale and look for a car that you know from on here has been maintained regardless of cost. Honestly there are some cracking cars on here that are well worth investing in. They are not cheap to maintain but equally if you buy the right one it should not cost you a fortune. I spoke to over 10 owners / dealers before buying V4 and spent 3 months on my hunt also ask people on here to help there is every chance one of us knows the car your interested in.

Just edit it so that its a warning that he needs to be treated with caution. You don't need to say anything more than that do you.

I usually regard a car deal not closed until the buyer has left an agreed deposit on the vehicle.

I've been there and done that with 'moral' deposits on car deals, they are of benefit to neither the buyer or the seller.

While the seller has been a bit of a joker with another user on here, I would agree with Col and Rachel - if you didn't leave a deposit then you hadn't actually agreed a deal. Your post suggested you had.
