add good sparks...
add flowed maf sensor...
add good air filter....
makes the car much more fruitier to drive...
one on its own wont do much, all together & you feel the car just 'wants' to go a bit more than before...
id recommend one, esp concidering itl most likely last longer than a ford item...

1) good spark plugs
2) magnecor leads (8.5mm)
3) induction kit
4) ignition coil
to be able to feel a big difference they are linked to one another i believe . Do an engine oil change and oil filter change and it will feel better

1) got some NGK plugs at the mo
2) just ordered these
3) got a K&N induction kit a few months back (love the roar!)
4) MSD Hyperpower Blaster Coil?
I've been reading some previous posts about Denso Iridium plugs. Looks like they cost a bomb! Hey jacko have you got these?

They look nicer than standard items though whenever you lift the bonnet to show people

arent theMagnecore leads for the standard puma supposed to be 8mm (blue) and 8.5mm (red) for the FRP ?

That'll be a faulty or incorrectly fitted lead.

i noticed a lot better idle running, and smother acceleration through all the gears,
120lbs torque
1/4 mile 16.17 seconds at 86.70mph

1) LESS spark strength (as a consequence of the resistance being too high)
or
2) Your new coil or existing ignition module will burn out sooner or later (as a consequence of the resistance being low).
This is just keeping the subject simple, as there's much more to it than that but for most people/applications that should cover it.
In most instances, the best option is just to buy a NEW stock coil. An ignition system is just like your engine, it requires the parts to be matched, so just for the same reasons you wouldn't fit the wrong size pistons to your engine, don't fit the wrong value components to the ignition system.
There is no need to increase the spark strength on a standard engine, however if you ever fitted nitrous or a turbo, then that would be different and in those cases, the best answer is to replace the entire ignition system with a matched high performance set up rather than JUST a coil.
In the main if you achieve ANY improvement by fitting after market ignition components on a relatively stock car, then it's because the old original parts were tired and new OEM ones would have given the same result.
It could still be worth adding Magnecor leads though, because they should last longer than OEM leads.

Yes and it's NOT my "opinion", it is FACT!!!!
As some of you may know, I've spent the last 30 years pushing the limits with nitrous injection and a key part of that has been achieving a stronger spark, because it is an ESSENTIAL ingredient on a nitrous motor.
Since there are few combinations that demand as much from an ignition system as nitrous does, it means I've had to get VERY SERIOUS about understanding spark generation, so my FACTS are supported by 30 years of hands on experience on the matter and besides that I have a BSc in electronics, albeit 30+ years out of date.

I bet neither uses tired old parts which are a number of years old that have seen many 1,000s of hot road miles either.
