Adrian - you're alright. Your special set shipped to Norway worked out at 85,88 EUR - so I owe YOU 71 euro cents!

Just seen what's come out of my bank account - it would appear PayPal have done me for currency conversion to the tune of 66EUR. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't started this. :(/>

The good news is Puma Schmeide have started making them and they should be shipped within 7 days. How long they take to get to me once shipped, however, is another matter - we're not sure on this, but they reckon anything up to 25 days (I imagine this is extremely conservative worst case scenario).

Final cost per set worked out at £58.49 per pair rather than the £53.80-£54.02 per pair I led people to believe. This is partly due to fluctuating exchange rates, but mostly my failing to account for PayPal pulling my pants down for currency conversion, and also failing to account for the supplier wanting us to pay the PayPal commission to transfer the money over to them. PayPal have done well out of this!

Here's what I received from people / how much I'm short by:

If anyone is unhappy with this, I will gladly refund you. Otherwise I'll need you to make up the difference before I can hand them over!

Don't worry about the outstanding amount until I've finalised whether I'm couriering your set to you or dropping it off in person or at a show or if you're coming to collect. We can sort out the courier cost and this outstanding few quid in one transaction then, to save on further PayPal robbings.

Hi Rob,

No thats fine mate, you carry on :)

As you say let me know how much you want for the difference plus p+p to mine and il sort it out :cool:/>

Rob,

I'm new to this forum, but I was about to get said bubbly arches done at the local bodyshop when he asked me for some profiles. I was gobsmacked, but you seem to have the answer. Are you still getting these? If so how do I go about signing up?

Duplicated from the original thread over on Project Puma:

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
I asked the supplier to provide a quote for 25, 30 and 40 units to see if there was any additional saving. Unfortunately, there is no further discount available, and any units from 21 onwards will be subject to a separate shipping charge as they can only send 20 at a time.

If anyone wants a set after we've hit the first 20, I will still order them for you if you want me to, but you will have to share the additional shipping cost of around £19.10 with however many people over 20 also want to participate.

To put it simply:
If you're in the first 20, you get the price quoted previously.
If you're buyer 21 or over, it'll be slightly more expensive as you'll have to take a hit on the additional shipping, unless someone from the first 20 drops out in which case you're quids in and you take their place.

Here's what they look like:

Apparently they're quite good for bodyshoppy people to work with when getting your arches repaired.

Is anyone else planning on doing their arches in the next few months? May be able to get some kind of discount - even if it's only on shipping (30EUR individually) for a few sets. - bulk discount prices below:

Here's how it will break down depending how many we buy:
1 set - £67.20 + £25.85 shipping = £93.05 per pair
5+ sets - £60.31 (10% off) each + £4.40 shipping = £64.71 per pair
10+ sets - £57.73 (14% off) each + £3.20 shipping = £60.93 per pair
20 sets exactly - £51.70 (23% off) each + £2.10 shipping = £53.80 per pair <--- we are currently here
Set 21 - £51.70 + £19.10 shipping = £70.80 per pair (unless 22, 23 or 24 people want a set in which case the shipping will be split amongst you)
Set 25+ - £51.70 each + £4.40 shipping = £56.10 per pair
Set 30+ - £51.70 each + £3.20 shipping = £54.90 per pair
40 sets exactly - £51.70 each + £2.10 shipping = £53.80 per pair

Note: the shipping quoted above is to get a pallet shipped to one location (i.e. my house) - there may be additional shipping cost to get it to you if we can't work out some other way of getting them to you either at shows/meets, other forum members, me dropping them off or you coming to collect if you're not too far away.

Just a quick note in case anyone was worried that it's all gone a bit quiet - my German pal is on holiday at the moment, but he'll be back on Monday so I'll ask him to give Puma Schmeide a nudge when he's back for an update. The arches may well have turned up by then, hopefully!

THEY'RE HERE!!

I'm in Bruges for the next four days, but when I get back I'll start organising couriers and stuff.

Right - I really need to get these out of the house. Unfortunately, I've had a really poo week at work so haven't made any progress.

They all arrived in one big box so all the ones that are going by courier I've got to pack up individually. Posted Image

I'm going to see Ginger Tom at the weekend, so hopefully he won't mind taking receipt of Mac and Tony's sets as well as the two he ordered. En route to Ginger Tom I can swing by Staines to drop off water-bug55's if you're about. I'll probably be not too far from you, Neil (grayfox) - so if you're in this weekend I can hand over your set as well.

I need to run down to the south coast this weekend too, so I can swing by Arch Bishop's in Hurstpierpoint to drop off YOG's set and also nip down to Brighton to deliver Z-fella's. I may consider taking the scenic route back via Eastbourne (burntbadger), Hastings (deputy) and Tunbridge Wells (oli8925) as that would relieve me of another three sets.

These ones I will definitely have to courier, I just need to get some packing materials, weigh/measure dimensions of the packed articles and get quotes for couriers:

gingerdave - Near Evesham - Need address
JPTipper (PumaPeople) - Dover - Need address
Shimmyhill - Norwich - Need address
g-whizz - Southport - Need address

StevenRaith - North Yorks. - Got address
Sasa (PumaPeople) - Northern Ireland - Got address
binman (PumaPeople) - Edinburgh - Got address

It would be helpful for me to plan what I'm doing if people could PM me the address where I need to courier / drop off to and a contact number.
